Fears Vs. Dreams

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST FEAR? WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST DREAM?

The following are two questions that the non-profit organization To Write Love On Her Arms have been asking recently.   You can also join in on the discussion at: http://www.fearsvsdreams.com.

It got me thinking as to what my biggest fears are and what is my biggest dream.

I would like to share them with you as I think it is important to be aware of your fears so you cant try to get over them and not let them control your life.

MY BIGGEST FEARS:

  • That I’m inadequate
  • Not reaching my potential
  • Failure
  • Letting the critics and my insecurities have power over me

MY GREATEST DREAMS:

  • To empower others to become the best they can be by sharing my story
  • To become the best I can be in my relationships and jobs
  • To help make the world a better and safer place
Check out the video below.  I invite you also to share your answers to these questions.

I AM LIVING A STORY.  I WILL NOT GIVE UP.

  1. Something to think about – are you afraid of success? It’s easy to stop yourself from giving it your all in case you actually succeed! Then everyone’s expectations increase. This is something I’ve talked with a few people about in regards to weight-loss. Once you start losing weight, everyone expects you to continue to lose and you start putting pressure on yourself to meet other people’s expectations.

    • Great insight Elaine. I actually think I was afraid of success. I am working on eliminating that fear. Where I was raised, it was frowned upon to be different, so I guess I didn’t aim for the best so that I wouldn’t be criticized for being too high and I could blend in.

I am over that and trying not to focus on what people think. I’m about to soar :) I guess I was racing to just not lose instead of racing to win.
