2012: The Year of “Random” Thoughts

“Go Big or Go Home” is a saying that is commonly used in my vocabulary. I like to dream big.  When I do something, I go all the way, putting my whole energy and heart into a project.

Over the Christmas holidays, I came up with an idea: I am going to post a random thought every day for the year 2012.  I am not focusing on only a monthly challenge – this is a year’s challenge to myself. I devised the challenge for three reasons: 1) stories are so very important; 2) your voice matters; and 3) people need a community which validates them.

The posts will vary in length and consist of: personal stories (my own and others) with important lessons, research findings, inspiring quotes, photos, and videos.  Each post will end with a couple of thought questions to get discussion going. A list of topics I will be writing about will be posted on the calendar online: right now, they are body image, self-esteem, motivation, sport psychology, etc.  For a full list, check my blog. If there are any topics you would like to discuss, please let me know.

I love reading magazines and thought, “Why not create my own version of a magazine?”   It will be kind of like my own version of a book club with ideas to make you think. Written responses and feedback are encouraged; if you feel inspired to write, share with the rest of us.

Looking forward to start this new adventure in 2012!!!
