Song of the Week: “The Will to Survive”

I saw the video for the song written and produced by Megan McNeil , a childhood cancer patient called “Will to Survive.” I had to share it, as it touched my heart.  The song has such a beautiful message.  Megan battled cancer for four years; she passed away at the end of January of last year. Her legacy will live on through the song and the lives she touched.

When I was younger, I wanted to be an oncologist after both my fifth-grade teacher and principal died of cancer. Since then, I have known many people (friends, family and others) who have had the disease.  Megan was a year older than my sister when she passed away.

All the children in the video are struggling with cancer. We need to help them.

This song is a reminder of how precious life is. Don’t take it for granted! Life goes by quickly.

  1. Sometimes, those who are dying or in serious trouble are the ones who have the best attitude.
Those are the ones I like to see / hear. I count myself among them, now. We can help if allowed. It is my hope people will just listen and think. One life – it’s all you have; why waste it on being so sad?

    • Its been my experience too. I have known in my life, friends and family members, who have dealt with life altering issues and they still maintain a positive attitude. I love that quote Scott – one life is seriously all you have. I wish I could help others that are in sad state right now see that. I know some individuals that have been sad for such a long time – its hard to get them out of that state. I have the same hope as you.
