Song of the Week: “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield

Happy 2013! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends.

I’m looking forward to getting back to posting regularly after January 12th (when my book is done).  I have some wonderful “Profiles of Perseverance” interviews and personal stories to share with you.

Other than spending time with loved ones, I devoted my time to finishing my book “Stand Tall & Speak From the Heart: How to Find Your Way,” which is due out this month.   As a result of all the writing I am doing, I chose a song of the week which has helped the process.  The song is “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield which encourages me to be vulnerable and write.  Natasha is an amazing singer and songwriter who speaks from her heart. I hope you like it!

Listening to beautiful music helps me write.  I’d love to hear your favourite songs. Which ones inspire you to write?

  1. This is a great, motivating song! I used to sing it all the time while getting ready to teach when I lived in China that first year. Another one I love is “Defying Gravity” from the Wicket soundtrack. Generally when I write, I like to listen to instrumental music though. Love the Thomas Newman station and the Benjamin Button soundtrack. Sounds like your 2013 is off to an amazing start!

    • I love Defying Gravity too! Yeah I listen to them while I’m getting ready to write and then listen to classical music also. We are so similar. Sounds like your year is amazing too :) Hope you are having a fun time on your round the world tour. I love all the updates you are posting. Happy 2013! Think this is going to be a pretty epic year for both of us. So glad I connected with you last year :) An awesome highlight.

    • I second that! Excited about sliding into 30 this year! ;) http://6monthstolive.me/why-29-is-worth-rocking/

Likewise! You continue to inspire me! :)

  2. Very good song! She does have a beautiful voice and the lyrics were so wonderful!
    Thanks!

  3. Thankyou Arianna,
Just her energy in that video you can feel the happiness and the freedom. Awesome song. It’s a shame so much music is negative, we need more songs like this.
